We still recommend a good book!

As you plan your trip, it's important to know where you can turn for valuable help and advice. We think the web is a great resource, of course. We also endorse a good book.

When someone asks what travel books we recommend, our first words are "Rick Steeves." Rick remains the leading writer for all European travels. We especially like found his books on Italy. They are well written, spiced with humor, and full of strong advice on what to see, how to survive and where to find those special values.

We make Rick's Italy travel books and others available here through Amazon.com.

What's in it for us? Each time someone clicks from this web site to Amazon and buys a book, Amazon shares a little of the purchase price with us. It's a very small amount, but as it adds up, we can afford to add features to this web site.

Here's our brash request: If you plan to buy anything from Amazon, please start with this page and then click into the Amazon web site. Only then will Amazon credit us with any sales.

Francis Mayes' Tuscany

OK, we've seen the movie "Under The Tuscan Sun." Set aside the fictional story and, instead, insert travel writer Francis Mayes' excellent non-fiction story of Bramasole and life in beautiful Cortona. Here is the original book plus two more of her books about the region. We've read them and they are great.
